After what was much more work than I thought it was going to be, The Martian Incident is live to be preordered! You can find it here on Amazon. It’ll be in Kindle Unlimited as well, and I’m still working on the paperback version.
My Goodreads page is in progress, will hopefully be ready by the next time I give an update.
As for my other projects, I’m finishing up the first draft of Prolegomenon (65,000 out of a planned 75,000), and then I’ll dive into the rewrite of Lag Delay. The latter is still sitting at the Pentagon, going to need an update from them. My goal is to have it published in the March 2024 timeframe.
But what I’m really excited about is my first foray into fantasy. I have an amazing story outlined, a historical fantasy epic set during the Golden Age of Piracy at the end of the 17th century. It’s a tale of revenge and exploration as a young Englishman, thrown into the unfamiliar setting of the Caribbean, takes on a cabal of deadly sorcerers to right a past injustice. I’m doing a more in-depth outline this time in order to make sure I hit all of the right character beats and I should start drafting that very early next year. I’m also re-reading a trio of books – James Michener’s Caribbean, Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo, and Tim Powers’ On Stranger Tides, in order to get me in the right mood to write a pirate story. It’s VERY different from what I’ve written in the past, but I’m excited to try something new.
I’m also outlining some other future books when I get a moment. Future me will eventually put some kind of timeline and placeholders in place for all of the books I’ve written or am going to write, but that’ll be for another day…
