About Me

I’m an aerospace engineer and an Air Force and Space Force veteran, and I write science fiction and technothrillers — my favorite genre to read, which is probably why I’m so hard on it. I’ve spent my career inside the worlds these books are set in: the engineering, the military, the kinds of programs most people only read about secondhand and usually wrong. So I hold the fiction to it. Whether a story’s set ten years out or across a whole colonized galaxy, the procedure and the hardware and the way real institutions and people behave have to hold up before I push past them. When a book fakes the stuff I know cold, I can’t read past it — so I work hard not to write one. I grew up outside Philadelphia and live in Northern Virginia now with my wife, four daughters, and a dog. When I’m not writing, I’m lifting or following Philadelphia’s four major sports teams.
