Beginning of April Post

Not much has happened since the post last week. I’ve interviewed for a full-time position and am waiting to hear back as I continue my outprocessing from active duty.

For April, my reading goals are:

  • Starfire by Dale Brown
  • The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
  • Kéraban the Inflexible by Jules Verne
  • Journey to the West by Wu Cheng’en (the Arthur Waley abridged translation)
  • Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner
  • And finish Weapons Grade by Don Bentley from last month

In terms of writing, I’m hoping I have a little more time than I did last month. I’d like to get to 40,000 words of Trials (the “secret project”) and 20,000 words of Crush Depth. I’m also working on a cover for Trials, will likely debut that at the end of the month.

Lag Delay is out and doing well! Like with The Martian Incident, I’m pleasantly surprised. We’ll see what its tail is like. Once Crush Depth comes out, I’ll start playing with advertising, but until then I’ll let it stand on its own. I also am starting to dip my toes into social media beyond Twitter/X – Instagram is my first one, then I’m going to make an honest effort at an author Facebook page.

Hope all of you have a great April!
