Busy month. Got more done in some areas than others. Going to focus on my writing because I didn’t read much (!) and barely had any times for video games.
The Europan Deception
Proofreading is done and the final version is uploaded to Amazon! Reviews are trickling in and they are great, beyond my wildest expectations. Hoping for some more of those – and preorders! – before it releases on May 6.
Preorder it here or pick up an ARC copy here.
Crush Depth
Made it to Chapter 45 and 60,000 words, but also added a couple of chapters that weren’t in the outline. It’s ballooned to 67 planned chapters plus a prologue and epilogue. I love how it’s turning out; the issues from the last draft are long gone and I’m actually picking up the pace as I am able to reuse parts from that. Hoping to finish the draft in late May or early June, then get it out to my beta readers.
Memento Vivere
I knew it was going to happen, but I’ve stalled out a bit on this project. I’m at 54,000 words and a little over halfway done with my outline but it’s slower going than it had been in the winter. I’m still making progress though and I’m probably going to finish sometime this summer and get it to a very different set of beta readers – fantasy fans who aren’t as interested in my sci-fi! Since it won’t need a Pentagon review I’m hoping to release it in the November-December timeframe barring any huge developmental changes.
Lag Delay
The Lag Delay ebook is now wide! Check the Books2Read link here. This is a year-long experiment – if I see good sales, I’ll likely release Crush Depth wide too. If not, it’ll be back in Kindle Select in March 2026. I’ll make a long blog post about it at the 6 and 12 month points.
Other Projects
I’m 20 chapters into the re-outline of Sensor Overload, the UAP/UFO-themed sequel to Crush Depth. I dropped the short story I was working on and am looking for new ideas – none of my already-created ones are working.
Hope you all had a great month and onward to April!
