Well, second consecutive month I didn’t get a “real” blog post in. Work and my family stuff has kept me very busy – more updates on that in my quarterly newsletter that’ll go out in June. But I did get a bit of writing in!
The Europan Deception
The Europan Deception releases on May 6, all final edits are made, and I cannot be more excited. This is the book I always wanted to write and after dozens of false starts and two years of editing it’s where I want it to be. I didn’t get quite as many ARC reviews as I would have liked but that’ll be for a “lessons learned” post sometime in the next few months. It’ll be available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover from Amazon and in paperback from all D2D retailers. Check it out – the ARC reviews are fantastic and it really captures the The Expanse meets The Bourne Identity vibe I was going for. Cannot wait to start writing the sequel!
Crush Depth
Got up to 76,000 words and Chapter 55 (out of 68). I’m feeling pretty confident that I have the developmental issues out of the way, but that’ll be up for my beta readers to decide. I’ve been doing a lot of critiquing over the last few months (more in January/February than March/April) and I hope many of them return the favor!
Memento Vivere
Only wrote about 10,000 words, getting me up to 62,000 (Chapter 37 out of 56). It’s slow going. I’ll be able to focus on it more when Crush Depth is done and out with beta readers.
Other Projects
Sensor Overload (the Crush Depth sequel) has the first two acts outlined! However, given the difference in responses to my sci-fi versus my technothrillers, it may be a few years before I sit down and draft it. Probably will talk about this more in a longer post.
Didn’t get anywhere with my shorts, probably need to take a few hours and reset that part of my writing.
